Lumen Eek – Chairman
Hello everybody! My name is Lumen Eek and I am a twenty years old student Applied Physics at the University of Twente. I am currently in the third year of my bachelor, doing my minor. After doing the introduction week committee I wanted to do something besides studying that was physics related, but on the other hand also focused on organising something. Organising the annual symposium of study association Arago seemed to fit this description very well. As chairman of the committee it is my task to make sure that everything goes well and that everything gets done in time, but also to help the other members of the committee where needed.
Finally, I hope to see you all at the symposium!
Timon Vreman – Secretary

I will help organise this year’s symposium of Arago (the study association of Applied Physics) and my functiun is Secretary. This means that my job is to keep track of the decisions made during meetings and to compose the Committee of Recommendation.
Simen Bootsma – Treasurer
Hi there! My name is Simen Bootsma and I am a twenty years old Applied Physics student at the University of Twente. I am currently in my third year of the bachelor and busy working at Roboteam, a student team which focuses on creating a team of cooperating robots to compete in the Robot Soccer World Cup. I have found the symposia of study association Arago to be very motivating, the speakers always know how to make me excited for several physics topics. This symposium committee is my first committee and I am enjoying it very much! As treasurer, I am responsible for controlling the money flows and making sure the expenses match the earnings. It will be my pleasure to see you all at the symposium!
Marieke Altena – External Affairs
Hi! My name is Marieke Altena, I am twenty years old and in my third year of the study Applied Physics here at the University of Twente. At the moment I am keeping my study on hold to be part of Green Team Twente as Hydrogen System Engineer. This year I joined the Symposium committee, because I wanted to help organise an event where science is the main issue. My function in this committee is Commissioner of External Affairs, which means I will focus on communication and collaboration with partners such as research groups, research institutes and companies. I hope to see you all at the symposium this year!
Lidewij Krakers – Speakers
Hello! My name is Lidewij Krakers. I am twenty years old and in my second year of the study Applied Physics at the University of Twente. I joined the Symposium committee, because I wanted to organise a big and professional event for all the people that are interested in physics. I am glad that this year the theme of the Symposium is ‘A journey to the Subatomic’, because it is one of the most present-day subjects in physics and we are making a lot of progress in so little time. My function in the Symposium committee is Commissioner Speakers. This means that I am in charge of arranging the speakers at the symposium and keeping them up-to-date.
